After 15 years of selling homes as a successful real estate broker, a high-risk pregnancy, and the birth of a newborn baby forever changed the life of Sharena Loggins. Now a reiki master, crystal alchemist, and owner of The Regal Phoenix crystal shop, Sharena has turned her decade-long passion for collecting healing crystals and using intention candles into a six-figure online business helps everyone recognize the healer inside.

The Regal Phoenix was created from a place that Sharena calls her Rock Bottom Season. During her most challenging times, she found herself still buying and gifting crystals to her friends and associates who needed to begin a healing process or were starting to explore the metaphysical realm.

Launched on her daughter’s first birthday, November 20, 2018, amid heavy postpartum depression, The Regal Phoenix was born and quickly placed on hold. Although barely operating for the first quarter of the year, The Regal Phoenix quickly went viral on Pinterest in 2019, and the rest has been history. A true testimony that when you heal and become aligned, you can manifest anything!

The shop offers crystal prescriptions for anxiety, weight loss, fertility, lack of money, lack of sleep, and more. It also provides popular metaphysical supplies such as white sage, Florida water, incense, and intention candles. The products were birthed from crystal prescriptions and rituals Sharena used to pull herself out of postpartum depression, lose 60 pounds, and change her finances entirely around.

Through The Regal Phoenix, Sharena shares her crystal alchemy gifts, reiki, and tarot to help others discover their inner healer, unlock their magic, and manifest their best lives!

Get better acquainted with Sharena and what she does below.

Fancy: You’ve said The Regal Phoenix was inspired by your high-risk pregnancy and your rock bottom season when you were dealing with postpartum depression. What was that time like?

Sharena: That time of my life was really hell. It was sad, chaotic, and it seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I would pray to God and ask why me? What did I do wrong? I couldn’t see or imagine myself out of the situation I was in and had no idea what I would do.

Fancy: So how did you go from postpartum depression to owning a metaphysical boutique?

Sharena: Since life was in such disarray, I decided to focus on myself. How can I make myself feel better, look better, healthier, heal, etc.? That decision was what changed my life. When I began to focus on myself and my healing, everything changed for the better. Combine that with crystals and intention candles and my ability to manifest, and my best life took off!

My love for healing crystals started over a decade ago before Regal Phoenix was born into the online shop community. I’ve always known magic was everywhere, and the power of crystals couldn’t be denied because they’ve helped me in the past. But when they began to change my life in the present, I knew I couldn’t keep the power of crystals to myself, so I began gifting them to friends, family, and colleagues. Before long, everyone around me was raising their vibrations and experiencing healing and alignment.

Those same friends are the ones who pushed and encouraged me to begin selling crystals and the knowledge behind crystal alchemy. I finally gave in, and the rest is “herstory''.

Fancy: For those who may not be familiar with crystals, how do we use them?

Sharena: There are quite a few ways to use crystals. You simply choose what works best for you.

  • Meditate with them. Focus on what you are trying to heal or manifest daily.

  • Carry them with you. This one is simple. Just keep the crystals in your purse or carry them in your pocket.

  • Feng shui your home. Protect your home with a crystal grid, place crystals in your plants and under your bed. The energy they emit will heal the energy in you whenever you are in their presence.

  • Create a crystal grid. These are fun and easy to create. Use your imagination and a center stone such as a tower to channel specific energy to a situation or person.

Fancy: There seems to be a stigma attached to metaphysics, and many shy away from it but want to know more. What would you tell those people?

Sharena: I would tell them that colonizers have demonized our traditions and our magic. They call us witches but use our rituals and our magic against us. If you travel to any country, you will see that the majority of them honor their ancestors with altars, but when we do it, it’s called demonic.

I would tell them that it’s time to take their power back. It’s time to honor their ancestors and unlock their magic to improve their lives.

Fancy: How did you obtain all your wisdom and knowledge?

Sharena: I was introduced to Hoodoo at an early age by my family; however, as I got older, I lost interest. At 19, I lost my only brother to gun violence, and his spirit visited me often to help me cope with what I was going through. This rekindled my interest in learning about Hoodoo and our family’s traditions. I have been researching, learning, and practicing ever since.

Fancy: Do you have any books that you recommend to those interested in metaphysics?

Sharena: I don’t usually recommend books on metaphysics and hoodoo because this knowledge is traditionally passed down through storytelling, but I like Working Conjure. I prefer to recommend books about crystals and herbs because they are tools you can use to heal yourself and your family. There’s a series of books called A Little Bit Of… that I like that covers the most popular topics like crystals, chakras, Reiki, and astrology. Each topic is its own book. I would also recommend Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic, Modern Herbal Dispensary, and The Crystal Bible.

Fancy: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced since starting The Regal Phoenix and how did you overcome it?

Sharena: Since starting The Regal Phoenix, the biggest challenge I’ve faced has been marketing. Everyone thinks that people just start buying when you start a business, but that’s far from the truth. I still struggle to get the massive traffic to my website I need to reach my big audacious sales goals. Some of the things we have been working on to ensure a successful 2022 are retaining SwagHer Magazine for PR, hiring a brand manager to bring cohesiveness to our brand, running ads, and introducing new products and sale strategies.

Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Sharena?

Sharena: You can describe my SwagHer as A-List with a Magical Hood Twist. I mix and mingle with the best of both worlds, and I bring people together with magic and healing energy. Educated in business and healing arts, I use my skills and alchemy to help where needed.

Fancy: You recently gave birth to another daughter. How has it been returning to work?

Sharena: My daughter is just ten weeks old, so I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. Thankfully I have an assistant and some adult children to help me with the business and the babies. We are in the process of restocking everything, opening the candle shop back up, and bringing new products to the shop this year. I definitely could not have done it without my tribe.

Fancy: What are some of your favorite crystals to carry, and why?

Sharena: I keep quite a few crystals in my wallet for protection and to attract money: Aventurine, Pyrite, Citrine, Peridot are for money drawing and manifestation. I have an Amethyst to keep me calm. Tiger’s Eye for protection and Labradorite to keep my third eye active.

Fancy: Do you have any special tonics or boxes planned for Valentine’s Day? If so, what are they?

Sharena: We will be bundling a few products for Valentine's Day and placing our Love candles on sale. There will be items for our singles as well!

Francheska “Fancy” Felder is a quiet Southern, media mogul in the making. In 2010, she launched SwagHer Magazine, an empowerment and lifestyle publication for the progressive Black community.

Fancy’s passion for all things creative combined with her love for writing, Black culture, and business guided her to also offer her public relations, creative, and branding services, making the magazine more of a media boutique having its own subscription clients as well as advertisers, hence why the name changed to SwagHer Magazine & Media.

SwagHer Magazine uses positive media and storytelling to create new narratives and mindsets around Black people, their communities, and the businesses and organizations they lead. Fancy executes campaigns for Black women-led businesses, coaches, authors, and girl bosses so that they receive more visibility and establish themselves as an authority.

The Mississippi native is also one half of Theories & Thoughts Podcast, a discussion-driven show that tackles Black issues and taboo subjects with a kitchen table talk feel, which she hosts with Arnya T.M. Davis. The two also co-produce and host Theories & Thoughts Deep Dive, a millennial talk show.
